Different routes are available. You might choose to discover the south of Argentina from Ushuaia or navigate through the Chilean fjords. You will pass through the famous Straits of Magellan and Cape Horn while admiring the wild nature of this ocean still unknown.
The 210-guest Stella Australis is a modern expedition cruise ship equipped with the latest navigation and safety technology. Cruising in Chile’s famed Patagonia region, she features a spacious open top deck for admiring the spectacular southern scenery, as well as a gift shop, game room, dispensary and small library. Three lounges are styled with modern audiovisual equipment for the most engaging naturalist lectures.
All cabins feature a panoramic window to make the most of the landscape. They offer a private area with shower, sink and toilet. They are also equipped with a private heating and a safe.
The restaurant offers meals “all inclusive” at set times. Lunch is a buffet offering a wide range of food, including products and flavors typical of Patagonia. A fixed menu is offered at dinner. Drinks, liquors and wine are offered at fixed times at the bar. A cafeteria service offers you the opportunity to have tea, coffee, pastries and biscuits.
Entertainment and activities
Zodiac excursions are offered in English and Spanish with qualified guides. For a minimum group of 15 people, excursions will also be in French and German. There will be in the day audiovisual presentations on the local fauna and flora, geography, glaciology, ethnography and history of the region of Patagonia. You will also be possible to let off steam in the gym located on the Darwin bridge.
The nature of the environment and the very changeable conditions invite us to recommend you bring waterproof clothing and accessories. Also remember to bring sun glasses and sunscreen.

Day 1 Beginning of the cruise in Punta Arenas
Today your cruise around Cape Horn begins ! From 13 to 17 pm you can check- in Punta Arenas in the street O’Higgins 1385 ” Puerto Prat”. At 18 clock you go on board the cruise ship to take up your trip . The crew with the captain at the helm welcomes you on board and served you and your traveling companions a welcome cocktail . Immediately afterward, called “Cast off ! ” To ride to the end of the world . On the legendary Magellan Strait , it goes through Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego : the beginning of a great adventure. Day 2 Ainsworth Bay – Tucker Islet
At dawn the ship Almirantazgo Sound travels through to Ainsworth Bay to the Marinelli Glacier in the background . Here you take a walk to discover a beaver dam in the marvelous sub-Antarctic , Magellanic forest all around. With any luck you will see on the beach is also a colony of elephant seals . Back on the ship , continue to Tuckers Islets , where you can watch from Zodiacs from Magellan penguins, cormorants and numerous native birds . The penguins on Tucker migrate in April north. Then this excursion is replaced by Brookes Bay where we go ashore and can take a hike near the glacier. (B,L,D)
Day 3 Pia Glacier – ” Glacier Alley ”
You navigate through the main part of the Beagle Channel to reach into the Pia Bay , where we go ashore near Pia Glacier . Here the short hike to a lookout point from which you can high in the mountain range where the glacier originates and sliding down to the sea. After this unforgettable experience we continue our journey along the northwest arm of the Beagle Channel to majestic ” Glacier Alley “, which from the glaciers España , Romanche, Alemania (Germany), Italy, France and Holland glaciers.(B,L,D)
Day 4 Wulaia Bay – Cape Horn
You sail through the Murray Channel, where you go in the Wulaia Bay on land. There was one of the largest indigenous settlements of the Yamana who sailed the coasts with canoes at this historic site. Charles Darwin landed here on the voyage of the HMS Beagle in 1833 on land. This place provides with its exceptionally beautiful flora and landscape is a natural spectacle. You walk to a viewpoint, right through the Magellanic forest of lenga, Coihue- and Canelo trees and numerous ferns and other species of plants. In the afternoon drive through Nassau Bay south to the National Park Cabo de Hornos further, where you will also go ashore, if it should allow the climatic conditions – about 85 percent of this is the case. The Cape Horn is a 425 m high, almost vertical rock demolition, meet behind the Pacific and the Atlantic Ocean on one another. For a long time this was an important sea route from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean for sailboats. At this myth rich place the world is at an end: the shore is no right, but a privilege. The mythical Cape Horn was declared a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve in June of 2005. (B,L,D)
Day 5 Arrival at Ushuaia – Departure or extension program
Arrival at Ushuaia, Argentina’s most important city on Tierra del Fuego and the southernmost city in the world. Depending on the date when disembarkation from 8:30 and 9:30 will be held there. There you can, for example, explore the city, visit the nearby National Park or continue your trip through Patagonia.
NOTE: The excursions described above are normally also being conducted as specified. Nevertheless, the operators reserve the right to alter all or part of the itinerary without notice to replace or leave out, if the welfare and safety of the passengers or the environment so require. Should the weather be too rough, z. B. the shore at Cape Horn can be canceled by the captain, but this happens only in 15 percent of cruises. For the same reason of departure and arrival of the vessels may be subject to change. The sighting of birds and animals can not be guaranteed, as these animals due to their natural habits remain in motion.(B)
