Since the Tule Revolution in 1925, Guna Yala is an autonomous territory in the Caribbean shores of the Republic of Panama. Kuna people are proud of their identity and maintain a strong connection with their natural and cultural patrimony.

Community tourism in Kuna Yala (San Blas) is a refreshing experience in Panama with the country’s Indigenous people that share a strong desire to maintain their traditions. The Kuna have preserved everything about their way of life that makes them special: native dress, arts & crafts, language, and a large unspoiled environment.

We invite you to join us in exploring their magnificent land and culture!
San Blas forms a group of over 365 small tropical islands located in the Caribbean Sea near the coast of Panama.

Only a small amount of over 40 of these islands are inhabited. These inhabitants, the Kuna`s, have been resisting changes to their culture since the Spanish first arrived over 500 years ago.

It offers two unbeatable attractions: an opportunity to visit the villages of the San Blas Indians to learn about the fascinating Kuna culture and the Caribbean islands of stunning beauty. Island accommodations consist of simple, yet comfortable native style cabins with roofs and walls of thatched palm trees- “all natural” lodgings that blend in perfectly with the tropical scenery.

Day 1: Kuna Yala – San Blas Archipelago Depart from your hotel early in the morning for a 25- 40-minute flight to San Blas Archipelago airstrip on Panama’s Atlantic Coast. Then a motorized dugout canoe will transfer you to the rustic but very charming San Blas lodge of your choice*. Here you will have the opportunity to visit the Kuna India’s principal community. Enjoy beautiful beaches on the nearby islands!. Lunch and dinner feature fresh San Blas seafood. (BLD)

*There are a number of lodges in San Blas and each caters to a slightly different kind of traveler. Some are better suited for couples, others for family groups, etc. We will book the lodge of your preference. Our favo rite accommodations in San Blas are: Yandup Lodge, Dolphin Lodge, DadIbe Lodge.

Day 2: Caribbean reef snorkeling Rent (or bring your own) snorkeling gear to explore the beautiful reefs in San Blas, relax on white- sand beaches or in a hammock under the palm trees. (BLD)

Day 3: Panama City Early in the morning return from San Blas to Panama City. Your afternoon will be free for relaxation or shopping at your leisure. Optional: City Tour, kayaking tour, folkloric show and dinner at Tinajas Restaurant. Spend the night at a hotel in the city.
