This family adventure has been designed to suit all ages from as young as ten through to the tender ages of eighty years plus passengers.

It is an exciting trip with an emphasis on education awareness of the surrounding environment but also has plenty of activities as well as allowing time to simply relax and enjoy your time while travelling.

Start your journey in the former Inca Capital city of Cusco, a city full of breathtaking history blending alongside current modern life, then continue to the Sacred Valley where you will enjoy a bike-ride along Rio Urubamba. Embark on a day long trek along what is known as the Royal Inca Trail to the lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu.

Finish with a final free day in Cusco where you will be able to explore this ancient city on your own. If you have some more time why not extend and add a night stay on an island in Lake Titicaca or explore the Amazon rainforest from a delightful jungle lodge to make a perfect two week break.

Day 1 Arrive Cusco and transfer to the Sacred Valley
Upon arrival into the City of Kings, Cuzco, you will be met by your guide who will accompany you on the 90 minute journey to Sacred Valley where your hotel is located. Stops will be allowed along the way to give you time for some photo taking from the many fantastic viewpoints. Lunch at Wayra restaurant and then enjoy the Caballo de Paso horse show. Afterwards visit a local potter where you will be given the opportunity in crating your personal souvenir. Return to hotel.  (L)

Day 2 Cycle the Sacred Valley
Start the day with a bicycle tour alongside the River Urubamba, ride along the country side as you enjoy the beautiful agricultural areas such as vibrant fields of corn, kiwicha and quinoa fields that you will pass. Local farmers going about their daily lives, are happy at the sight and wave as you ride along and conitnue to the small town of Pisac where you will enjoy a well-earned lunch. Time will be given for you to enjoy a market day in Pisac, by the time you enter the Market, and most of the crowds will have left by so you can wander amongst the many artisan stalls at your leisure. Return to hotel. (B,L)

Day 3 Pachamancas, paddleboards and salt pans
This after breakfast travel to the shores of Lake Huaypo; set amongst fields of sunflowers and snow-capped mountains of Urubamba, it is a breathtaking sight. Learn about and help your Pachamanca lunch, a very traditional Peruvian meal where meat and vegetables are cooked on hot stones in a hole in the ground. As the food finishes cooking, time will be given for you to enjoy the water with some water sports that includes paddling one of the world’s highest fleet of stand-up paddleboards. Afterwards enjoy lunch and relax as you taken in your beautiful surroundings. Then continue on a 15min drive to the ancient Salt pans of Maras which are still being worked by the locals and it is also a photographers dream. (B,L)

Day 4 Hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
Today travel to wondrous site of Machu Picchu, built over 500 years ago, it is now one of New Seven Wonders of the World. Your day begins by taking an early morning train to the start of the hiking trek, after a few hours of walking and climbing, you will reach the beautiful Inca terraces of Wiñay Wayna where lunch break will be given for your box lunch.

Continue travelling a further two hours before you reach the old Incan gateway, turn left and there it is, Machu Picchu, travel further to town for your overnight stay and if you are up to it why not enjoy the medicinal waters of the hot springs and get ready for tomorrow for your chance to explore fully the ruins.(B,L)
Day 5 Machu Picchu tour
Early morning wake up as you take a 20 minute bus ride back to Machu Picchu, where your guide will be waiting for you and before the crowds arrive, your guide will show you around and explain just how the Incas managed to build with such precision and such beauty, on such a remote hilltop. Spend time in this enchanting place and return back to town for your train/bus ride back to Cuzco. (B)

Day 6 Sacsayhuaman, slides, tunnels and chocolate making
Today explore and enjoy the sights of Cuzco at a leisurely pace, commence by taking a 15 min drive to the old Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman; standing guard above Cusco, it has stones of up to 28 feet high weighing 140 tonnes. Climb to the top of the ramparts for a spectacular view of Cusco. Sacsayhuaman, it has an impressive system of tunnels and rock slides just waiting for you to explore. Afterwards walk back down to Cusco where you are free to relax and enjoy some lunch (at own expense). This afternoon enjoy a delicious chocolate treat, learn about how it is made, where it comes from and make your own Peruvian chocolate bar. (B)


Day 7 Canoes, Camelids and Condors
After breakfast travel to the Urubamba river to the Pinipampa section where inflatable canoes will be inflated for some rafting activities, perfect for beginners and also experienced rafters. Lunch will be served at one of the local restaurants where you can mingle with the locals. Time will be given for you to visit Awana Kancha, where you can feed the llamas and alpacas as well as seeing how the traditional cloth is woven and dyed. As well visit the Ccochahuasi Animal Sanctuary and see firsthand how big a Condor’s wingspan is as it swoops low over your head. It is home to a variety of rescued animals such as condors, pumas, macaws and the Peruvian hairless dog. (B,L)

Day 8 Free day in Cusco and onward travel
Morning is free to enjoy on your own until your transfer out to the airport or train/bus station. (B)
