Itinerary:

Day 1: Transfer in – Isabela Island (L, D)
Upon arrival in Baltra, you will be met and welcomed by your guide who will take you to Puerto Ayora, there you will have lunch and then afterwards you will be transferred by speed boat to Isabela Island; the biggest and youngest Island within the archipelago.

 

Here you will have free time to enjoy on your own, in the evening Dinner will be in one of the local restaurants in the centre of Isabela. Accommodation at the selected hotel.

 

Day 2: Wetlands, Flamingos Lagoon, Tortoise breeding Center, Tintoreras and Concha Perla (B,L,D)
This morning, visit the Humedales of Isabela Island – Wetlands – where you will discover mangroves, natural pools, lava tunnels and beaches all surrounded by a beautiful background.

 

Observe the different species of birds that call these wetlands home. Learn about the reproduction program of Flamingos and if possible, you may even see some them in their natural habitat, the Lagoon.

 

Afterwards visit the Tortoise Breeding Centre – designed breeding and reproduction of these giant Tortoises. Continue to Concha Perla, where you will have time do snorkel and swim with the different species of fishes, corals and resting sea turtles.

 

Continue sailing the coast and be ready with your cameras as you will see blue-footed boobies, penguins, pelicans and frigate birds dancing around the cruise ship. As we reach our final destination for the day, Isle of Tintoreras – learn of the blue shark, marine iguanas and sea lions, return to hotel for dinner and for some sleep.

 

Day 3: Sierra Negra Volcano and Chico (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we travel by car to Sierra Negra Volcano, this volcano is one of the oldest on Isabela Island which is made up of AA Lava.

 

We will take a guided walking tour for about 40 minutes and then continue by riding horses until we get to the crater of the volcano.

 

Perhaps we may be lucky and see the Sparrow Hawk of the Galapagos, be ready with your camera! Box lunch with a visit to El Chico. Return to hotel for dinner and for some sleep.

 

Day 4: Airport Transfer – Flight back (B)
Farewell to your fellow travellers and crew members as your adventures comes to an end. Today you will travel 2.5 hours to Santa Cruz and from there you will be transferred to the airport for your flight out to mainland Ecuador.

 

SANTA CRUZ EXPRESS – 4 DAYS/ 3 NIGHTS PROGRAM

Itinerary:

Day 1: Santa Cruz Island – Primicias Farm – Charles Darwin Station (L, D)
Arrival in Baltra. Our guide will be waiting us to takes to our first visit, Primicias Ranch located in the island’s highlands. In this location we will be able to see our first Giant Turtles – Geochelone nigrita – in their natural habitat. This turtle colony can be seen usually eating or taking a bath.

 

The next attraction is a walk through the dark lava tunnels while our guide will explain us the violent origin of the Galapagos Islands. We continue to Puerto Ayora for lunch. In the afternoon, visit Charles Darwin Station for learning about their conservations efforts breeding different species of turtles brought from distant islands, in an attempt to restore the endangered populations. Dinner and accommodation at the selected hotel.

 

Day 2: Bartolome Island – Navigable Tour (B,L,D)
After breakfast, transfer to Baltra to start our first navigable tour to Bartolome. One of the main attractions of this island are their incredible landscapes with lunar-like craters, impressive lava formations and the famous Pinnacle Rock. Lunch on board. Before departure, opportunity for snorkeling in one of the coral beaches of the island where we can see Galapagos penguins, marine turtles, sea lions and multi-colored fish. Return to the hotel In the afternoon. Dinner and accommodation at the selected hotel.

 

Day 3: North Seymour Island – Navigable Trip (B,L,D)
Enjoy a navigable tour to North Seymour, a 1.9 km² island located northbound from Baltra. The main fauna species of this island are Land Iguanas, the Magnificent Frigate bird with their incredible scarlet regular pouch, blue-footed boobies and their particular courtship dance and sea lions surfing across the waves. Lunch on board. Return to the hotel In the afternoon. Dinner and accommodation at the selected hotel.

 

Day 4: El Trapiche – Airport Transfer (B)
After the breakfast, we will drive approximately 30 minutes up to the highlands of Santa Cruz. Once we get to “El Trapiche”, the Spanish word for sugar mill, we will have the opportunity to see the day life of the locals by experiencing how they produce sugar cane. They will also explain about the production of the incipient Galapagos Coffee, a new variety that grows on the islands. Afterwards, transfer to the airport in on time for your flight.

SAN CRISTOBAL & SANTA CRUZ –  6 DAYS / 5 NIGHTS COMBINED PROGRAM

Itinerary:
Day 1: San Cristobal Island -Interpretation Center – Tijeretas Hill and Tijereta Bay (L, D)
Arrival to San Cristobal Island, where a guide will be waiting and transport us to the hotel. We will leave our luggage and have lunch. During the lunch the guide will explain us the itinerary.

 

In the afternoon, we will visit San Cristobal Interpretation Center, where we will learn more about the origin of the archipelago, its fauna and flora, as well as the history and its first inhabitants.

 

After, we will hike for about 2 hours to Tijeretas hill where we will enjoy the endemic vegetation and a beautiful view of the island and its surroundings. The main attraction here is the frigate birds. At the end of the day, we will visit Tijereta Bay to do some snorkeling. Return to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation at the selected hotel.

 

Day 2: Kicker Rock and Lobos Island – The Galapaguera – Junco Lagoon ( B, L, D)
Breakfast. We will leave early in the morning to take the boat and visit the Kicker Rock, which is known as one of the best places to do snorkeling and diving in Galapagos, because you can see sharks, rays and different types of fishes. We will end this trip, visiting Lobos Island, where we can swim with sea lions.

 

Box Lunch onboard and in the afternoon we will visit the highlands of the island where the weather is usually cloudy and it can rain lightly. We will visit the Galapaguera, a Tortoise breeding place of the “Geochelone chatamensis” (the islands own species). We will learn about the history of this kind of turtle.

 

Afterwards, we will continue to the Junco Lagoon, which is located in the middle of a volcanic caldera and whose water comes from the rain and forms a fresh water lake where the frigate birds dive in order to get rid of the salt of their body. Later, we’ll do a short walk around the lagoon enjoying the vegetation of Miconia, and then we’ll return to the hotel, dinner and accommodation at the selected hotel.

 

Day 3: Santa Cruz Island – Primicias Farm – Charles Darwin Station (B, L, D)
Transfer to the port where we will take a speed boat to our next destination which is Santa Cruz Island. The boat trip takes about 2 hours and a half.

 

On arrival in Santa Cruz, a guide will be waiting and take us to the hotel where we can leave our luggage. We will seize the morning to visit the Primicias Ranch in the island’s highlands where we will be able to see Giant Turtles in their natural habitat.

 

We will get to know “Geochelone nigrita” who is usually eating or taking a bath. Another attraction is a walk through the dark lava tunnels and that way being able to understand better the origin of this island.

 

Return to Puerto Ayora, lunch and then go to visit Charles Darwin Station, where we can see the breeding center of the turtles of the other islands.

 

Return to Puerto Ayora to have dinner and accommodation in the selected hotel.

 

Day 4: Bartolomé Island – Navigable Trip (B, L, D)
Breakfast. Transfer to Baltra in order to start our first navigable tour: Bartolome Island. This small island, located opposite Santiago Island, covers a total area of 1.2 km² and a maximum altitude of 14 meters.

 

One of the main attractions of this island is the “Pinaculo” famous rock. Lunch on board. Before returning, we’ll do some snorkeling at one of the coral beaches of the island, where we can see: Galapagos penguins, submarine turtles, sea lions and multi-colored fish.

 

In the afternoon we’ll return to the hotel. Dinner and acommodacion at the selected hotel.

 

Day 5: North Seymour Island – Navigable Trip (B, L, D)
Breakfast. This day we will enjoy a navigable tour to North Seymour Island. It’s a small island located at the north of Baltra, covers a total area of 1.9 km² and has a maximum altitude of 30 meters. The main fauna species of this island are: land iguanas, frigate bird, blue-footed boobies and sea lions. Lunch on board.

 

In the afternoon we’ll return to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation at the selected hotel.

 

Day 6: Trapiche – Airport Transfer – Flight Back (B)
After the breakfast, we will drive approximately 45 minutes up to the highlands of Santa Cruz. Once we get to “El Trapiche”, the Spanish word for sugar mill, we will have the opportunity to see the day life of the locals by experiencing how they produce sugar cane. A family of galapageños owns this small property and our hosts, father and son, will invite our guests to turn the press, a basic sugar cane press. The last part of our excursions ends with a brief explanation about the production of the incipient Galapagos Coffee, a new variety that grows on the islands. Transfer to the airport and flight back to mainland.

Day 4: Wetlands, Flamingos Lagoon, Tortoise breeding Center, Tintoreras and Concha Perla (B,L,D)
After breakfast we will visit the Humedales of Isabela Island, this wetlands consist of a nice trail of 5 km were you will find Mangroves, pools, beaches all surrounded by a beautiful landscape. Possibility of observing different species of birds.

 

There is an important place for Flamingos reproduction, if possible we will be able to see the Flamingos at this Lagoon. This is a very nice trail full of nature and History, we will also visit the Tortoise Breeding Center, at this place you will learn more about the breeding and reproduction of the Tortoises.

 

After a short break to take a quick snack, we will get prepared for our next trip of the day: Concha Perla, where we can do some snorkeling and watch the different species of fishes, corals and resting sea turtles. Then we’ll continue with the boat along the coast watching species like: blue-footed boobies, penguins, pelicans and frigate birds. Reaching the Isle of Tintoreras, we’ll get to know the blue shark, marine iguanas and sea lions. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.

 

Day 5: Sierra Negra Volcano and Chico (B, L, D)
Breakfast. Today, we go by car until reaching the mountain sides of the Sierra Negra Volcano. This volcano is considered as one of the oldest of Isabela. We will walk about 40 minutes and then continue our way by riding horses until the crater of the volcano.

 

With a little bit of luck, we will be able to see the sparrow hawk of the Galapagos. We will get to know the geology of the Sierra Negra Volcano. Most of the part of this island is formed by AA lava.we will have a box lunch and visit el Chico. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.

 

Day 6: Airport Transfer – Flight back (B)
Transfer to the port to take an approximate two and a half hour boat trip early in the morning. Once arrived at Santa Cruz, a tour guide will be waiting you to take you to the airport. Arrival to the airport, check-in assistance and flight back.
