Join our Ecuador and Colombia Highlights Tour and discover the amazing attractions of these two neighbouring countries that offer a diversity of wildlife, different cultures and the most spectacular scenery. This tour is based on first class comfortable accommodation and cruising.
We start with a cruise in the enchanted Galapagos Islands, teeming with land and marine wildlife. Discover the place where Darwin studied the animals and birds to conclude his theory of evolution.
Not much has changed since then, the animals and birds are still there enjoying the protected islands and are not the least intimidated by the human species that come here to look at them and experience being up very close. Continue to the world heritage city of Quito – nestled in a long valley in the Andes mountains and host to spectacular churches, plazas and colonial buildings. Visit the countryside and Otavalo indigenous market and overnight in a community centre with the opportunity to see some of the art works and way of life of the locals.
Fly to Bogota, Colombia and host to one of the most amazing museums in Latina America, the Bogata Gold Museum. View the entire city from the heights of Monserrate, accessible by cable car. Visit Villa de Leyva, an old colonial cobblestoned town with the largest town square in all of South America and home to many local artisans – and a tranquil and beautiful place to unwind.
Continue to the Coffee Region and learn about coffee production and the farming methods. You will stay in local authentic haciendas and enjoy the way of life and the incredible greenery that is on display in this region and the genuine warmth of the locals. Enjoy an invigorating jeep ride in Cocora Valley and drink a perfect coffee in Salento before flying to Cartagena, the jewel of South America and an absolutely enthralling city that is also a Unesco World Heritage site. Here you can have some time to experience this exceptional city and learn of the pirates that constantly tried to invade this trade centre in colonial times and enjoy the warm nights with a horse carriage ride through the beautifully lit up colonial city.
