Our tour starts in cosmopolitan Bogota, the capital city and its famous Gold Museum. Drive north though evergreen scenery to the quaint colonial town of Villa de Leyva. Fly down to the coffee region and discover why its coffee is one of the most valued coffees in the world. Relax on the beaches of the Caribbean of the Tayrona National Park, be inspired by the colorful colonial streets of Cartagena.

01.Day Arrive in Bogota
Meet and assist at the airport and transfer to your selected hotel.
Welcome to Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, located in the centre of the country on a vast plain at 2,600 metres above sea level and with a moderate temperature. Bogotá, with a population of eight million people from all corners of Colombia and by far the country’s largest city, Bogotá is a sprawling metropolis, home to eclectic, experimental architecture, a large bohemian university crowd, a lively cafe scene, and dozens of attractive city parks. It is a city bursting with energy and culture.


02. Day Bogota – Morning city tour with Gold Museum (B)
Guided visit to the Colombian capital. Includes the Plaza de Bolívar (the city’s main square) and government buildings situated around it, La Candelaria (the old colonial part of town), the Church of San Francisco and the Gold Museum (closed on Mondays) Finishes with a trip in funicular railway to the top of Monserrate, the best-known of the mountains that form the eastern boundary of this city. Duration: 4 hours approximately.


03. Day Bogota – Overnight Excursion to Villa de Leiva (B)
Leaving Bogota to the north, we cross the savannah landscape to Zipaquirá, 50 km away. Visit the fully functioning Salt Cathedral. This unique building was built approximately 120 meters underground in what used to be a salt mine . The tour continues north 2 hours to La Ráquira, a village of quaint and colorful little houses, famous for its pottery and ceramics. After a time to walk around there, we continue to Villa de Leyva arriving in evening to one of the most beautiful and well-preserved colonial villages in South America. Transfer to hotel and check in.


04. Day Villa de Leiva – Walking tour (B)
In the morning visit of the “Ecce Homo” Dominican convent, built in the XVII century, followed by a visit to a fossil discovered just outside the town, which has been dated at over 150 million years old. The afternoon will be free to walk around an enjoy the magic atmosphere of this town.


05. Day Villa de Leya/Bogota/Santa Marta/Taganga (B)
After breakfast we leave Villa de Leyva via the Northern Expressway. We will stopat Tunja, capital city of the department of Boyaca before arrive at the most important monument in Colombian history: the “Boyacá Bridge”. On that bridge Simón Bolívar fought and won his most decisive battle against Spanish
settlers. Trip continues on to Bogota and we arrive directly to the airport to take a direct flight to Santa Marta. On arrival transfer to hotel in Taganga and check in.


06. Day Taganga/Tayrona National Park (B)
We leave Santa Marta in the morning, going east along the Caribbean coast to El Zaino, main entrance to the Tayrona National Park and 1 hour away from Santa Marta. After another 5 minutes drive, arrival at Cañaveral beach, where we will complete check in procedures for the unique Ecohabs. There is an hour
trek to reach the bungalows. Your luggage will be delivered by mules and cost is included.


The popular Tayrona Park lies at the Caribbean coast near Santa Marta in Colombia. It has some of South America’s loveliest coastline. This little, delightful spot is located about 30 minutes from the city of Rodadero, with beautiful beaches, hammocks to rent for the night, food, water and surf (be careful, though; there is a strong riptide – experienced surfers only!).


07. Day Tayrona National Park – Free day (B)
Today the time is free to enjoy and relax. Optional a fullday hike to Pueblito can be done, Tayrona Indian hamlet. (not included)


08. Day Tayrona N.P/Cartagena (B)
After breakfast we will be transfer to Santa Marta, to take the Regular Tourist Bus to Cartagena. Drop-off directly to your hotel and check in. rest of the day at leisure.
Welcome to Cartagena, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the Venice of Colombia, with one of the most impressive old towns in the Western Hemisphere.


With just the right mix of sun, sand, and colonial charm, it’s likely to be the highlight of your trip. A walk through Cartagena’s inner walled city feels
a bit like stepping back in time, complete with cobblestone streets and grandiose balconies overflowing with flowers. The city, has the most impressive Old City in the Americas, dating all the way back to the 16th century. Its many plazas and restaurants come alive at night and its colonial architecture is unmatched anywhere on the western hemisphere.


09. Day Cartagena – Half day city tour (B)
Fascinating tour in Cartagena. We will visit the most representative monuments the Convent of La Popa (highest point in the city). Then we will go to the Castillo de San Felipe, an immense fort filled with history and mysteries hidden in its stone-walled tunnels. Right after that, we will visit the monument to Zapatos Viejos, the “Old Shoes”. A defensive wall surrounds the old city, which overlooks the sea and its wellpreser- ved colonial architecture makes Cartagena deserving of the title UNESCO World Heritage Site, here you will find churches, museums, plazas,restaurants, shops and jewelry stores. You will never forget this wonderful destination: Cartagena de Indias. Duration: 4 hours approximately.


10. Day Depart Cartagena (B)
Breakfast. At convenient time, transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
Extension: We strongly suggest to extend your stay in the area with a 2 night program to the Rosario Islands Archipelago, located 1 hour by boat from Cartagena with clear turquoise warm waters all year round. An ideal place to relax and unwind.
